July 8, 2025 — San Diego, California – Global changemakers, entrepreneurs, and cycling duo Lady JB Owen (55) and Peter Giesin (57) have officially become world record holders as the first couple to cycle the entire Baja Peninsula—both north to south and south to north—on a tandem bicycle.

The milestone marks a powerful moment in their ongoing 2025 journey, as they cross into the United States via San Diego on their ambitious 80-day, 9,000 km tandem cycling expedition from Cabo San Lucas to Homer, Alaska—part of their global movement Cycle to Ignite Humanity.

This is far from their first epic cycling expedition. In 2020, JB and Peter cycled from Calgary to Ottawa, sparking the first pedal-powered chapter of their mission. In 2021, they conquered a 6,500 km journey from Calgary to the Top of the World Highway in the Yukon and back, navigating some of the most remote terrain in North America. In 2022, they completed a full coast-to-coast ride across Canada, cycling 10,000 km from Vancouver to Newfoundland. Then in 2023, they pushed further—riding from Calgary to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in just 34 days, an extraordinary feat of stamina, synchronicity, and heart.

Their current journey features 93,000 meters (305,000 feet) of elevation gain—the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest ten times—stretching across three countries and weaving through countless communities.
